Park Headquarters Road Remains Closed for Sugarlands Utility Work
Visitors traveling through the Sugarlands area of Great Smoky Mountains National Park should continue to plan around a closure of Park Headquarters Road as utility rehabilitation work remains underway.
The National Park Service currently lists Park Headquarters Road as closed due to work involving the Sugarlands water and wastewater systems. A reopening date has not been announced.
The closure is limited to Park Headquarters Road and should not be confused with a closure of the entire Sugarlands area or Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
Visitors traveling through the area should take the closure into account when planning their route and check current National Park Service alerts for the latest conditions before heading into the park.
Because the NPS has not provided a reopening date, visitors should not assume access has resumed until the closure is officially updated or removed.
