Corrections Policy
All About the Smokies wants its published information to be accurate, current and clear. We welcome specific correction requests from readers, sources and organizations covered by the publication.
How to report an error
Use the Contact page and include the article or page URL, the statement you believe is incorrect, the correct information and any reliable supporting source. Requests may also be mailed to P.O. Box 1391, Gatlinburg, TN 37738.
How corrections are handled
We review the original evidence, relevant current sources and information supplied with the request. When a material factual error is confirmed, we correct the article. When a situation changes after publication, we may update the article to reflect the new facts rather than characterize the original report as an error.
Material corrections
A correction note may be added when a change meaningfully affects central facts, dates, names, locations, visitor guidance or conclusions. Minor spelling, grammar, formatting or style changes may be made without a separate note when they do not change meaning.
Disputed information
If credible sources disagree about a material fact, an article may be updated to describe the dispute and what remains unresolved. A request does not guarantee removal of accurate reporting or an outcome preferred by a source.
Developing stories
Closures, openings, road conditions, event details and construction plans can change. We may update those stories as appropriate and retain the most useful current wording for readers.
